Ford Canada President addresses CAPE, CAI students
Bill Osborne, President and CEO of Ford Canada, recently took time out from manning the helm of the company’s fourth-largest manufacturing market to discuss emerging trends in automotive manufacturing and marketing with students in the Centre for Automotive Parts Expertise (CAPE) and the Canadian Automotive Institute (CAI) at the Barrie Campus.
Auto Show
At the Canadian Automotive Institute (CAI), students have an opportunity to make their education stand out at the annual auto show! In September, the CAI students hold the largest outdoor auto show in North America!
This 100 per cent student-run outdoor learning lab gives students hands-on experience with major manufacturers and the public in the three-day event.
All major manufacturers participate and display new vehicles. The 22,000 plus visitors who attend every year appreciate the opportunity to browse in a “sales-free zone” and see all the new vehicle models.
Students take part in
- manufacturer training
- move-in and move-out process
- auto show display set-up
- vehicle detailing
and provide visitors with vehicle information in a professional manner.
Please visit Auto Show website for more information.

CAI students attend Mustang Car Show at Ford!
Three Auto Show Committee students from CAI attended a unique Mustang Car Show at the Ford plant in Oakville during the long weekend in August. This was a wonderful opportunity for students to network with the automotive industry and see some really cool cars! Steve Monti, 2008 Auto Show Director and CAI student said “we couldn’t have asked for a better day, what a show! Of the thousands of car clubs out there, I have never seen such a turnout nor such direct manufacturer support for it…refreshing to see!”

Our students and graduates are in high demand by industry leaders! Over 50% of CAI graduates find full-time employment with one of their co-op employers. Co-op works!
The proof?

- To find employment opportunities in your field of study, you can count on the assistance and expertise of our Co-op Consultants.

Co-operative education helps you develop your skills through real, relevant work experience in the automotive industry. Co-op is a proven, realistic and practical system of career education. You must complete three paid co-op work terms during the course of your studies. When you graduate, you will have one year of work experience in the auto industry.
“My co-op experience at Georgian College in the Automotive Marketing program has been simply awesome. After working for a major manufacturer through a special event marketing company, I am now pursuing permanent employment in the event marketing field.
